This stunningly rich vinyl flooring boasts sophistication and charisma. The knots and grains make for a fantastic imitation of real wood that it’s almost impossible to tell it apart from the real thing. Vinyl is ideal if you enjoy the authentic look of real wood but need something at a cheaper price tag and easier maintenance.

Although many of us enjoy light hues for our floors, darker flooring has become increasingly popular and is actually better from a practical point of view. Not only does it give an affluent and luxurious look to your space, but is better at hiding dirt and stains – perfect if this is something your home is more exposed to! However vinyl is stain, water and scratch proof, making for an easy to manage and care free flooring.

Vinyl is one of the most durable choices of flooring, lasting for many years without showing wear. This makes it very popular with busy family households and rooms that see high footfall such as the kitchen and living room. We trust in the durability of our products so much that we have included a fantastic lifetime guarantee!

Perhaps one of vinyl’s most useful properties is its ability to cope with underfloor heating, something we are seeing more and more of in our homes, so it is certainly worth giving yourself the option of this if you can as it will help with the selling value of your property when it is time to move on.

If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:

Glue Down vs Click

Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.

• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.

• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.

Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.

A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.

Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.

LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
