A sandy toned flooring is a very popular choice for homeowners due to its warm and affluent appearance. This flooring mimics oak’s natural elegance beautifully that it’s hard to tell it apart from real wood.
The interesting variation of colours flow charmingly throughout, as well as showing off realistic looking knots and grains. Not only does this enhance the genuine look, but picks up different tones the room may have. A block coloured rug would complement this product perfectly as it already has a lot going on.
Vinyl is well known for being incredibly durable, lasting for many years after installation. Due to this, we would recommend this product in areas that experience heavy footfall. Once more, it is also scratch, water and stain proof, meaning its ideal for utility, bathrooms and kitchens which see more water exposure. We've also included a fantastic lifetime guarantee!
You get the beauty of real wood at a cheaper price and more practical benefits with this flooring. This is perfect if you have fallen for real wood’s charm but can’t sacrifice vinyl’s incredible practicality. It is extremely easy to clean, with only needing a quick sweep and a mop a couple of times a week. You can also install underfloor heating with vinyl, something that we are seeing more of in our homes.
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
