This flooring is perfect if you’re looking for a slick, contemporary look with an added bit of character. The variation of colours not only increases its character but adds to its realistic appearance - this is also boosted by the grains and knots incorporated throughout.
It is no secret that vinyl is very resilient to wear and tear, looking new for many years after installation. This makes it a very popular choice for busy family households, withstanding the strains of high foot traffic. As well as this, vinyl is also stain, water and scratch proof, as a result it is a common choice for kitchens and bathrooms. We also offer a generous 30-year guarantee!
This flooring gives off a very plush, affluent look that will impress any guests to your home. An ashy grey not only looks beautiful, but also goes with any décor and colour schemes. Because this flooring is neither too busy or too plain, it would work well with plain or patterned walls.
Vinyl feels cushioned and soft underfoot as well as an anti-slip quality. Perhaps its best feature is that you can install under floor heating due to it being able to withstand fluctuating temperatures - something that cannot be done with solid wood flooring.
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
