Unfinished Oak Flooring

Unfinished wood is that that has not been pre-finished during the manufacturing process. This allows it to be finished by yourself at home, or instead left as it is to showcase the natural beauty of the wood. This is especially true with oak, which is known for its extremely attractive and varied grain and knots. We do however recommend finishing an unfinished floor at home with either an oil or lacquer. Oil will provide the most natural looking finish, whereas lacquer will create a shiny film. Unfinished floors without this should only be used in homes where there is minimal footfall.
